LEADFRAME ALLOYS
Technical innovation is possible in the high-technology
industries only when the basic materials that support it provide excellent
performance. With its high-level technology and rich experience in producing
nonferrous metal products, Poongsan has developed new materials for semiconductor
leadframes and connectors. It is a significant contribution to the electronic
and semiconductor parts industries. The new copper alloys, PMC102 and
PMC102M, possess physical properties required for a semiconductor leadframe
material, such as good electric and thermal conductivity, high thermal
softening resistance and high metallurgical strength. Far better than
the existing materials for plating and welding, they have been registered
as CDA19010 and CDA19015, and patented in the US, Japan, and other advanced
countries. An exclusive line, consisting of a casting furnace, a tension
leveller and a tension annealer, is installed at the Onsan plant to produce
quality leadframe alloys that possess desirable physical and electric
properties. They are separately under strict quality control. In addition
to inventing a series of PMC102 alloys, Poongsan also supplies other kinds
of copper alloys, such as C194 and PMC90, that possess the functions and
characteristics required for a leadframe or connector part. The company
has played a leading role in the semiconductor raw-material industry by
developing PMC124, PMC91 and B alloys.
